Imagine.Imagine... hundreds of people put on an XO (with the human as the X, and Earth as the O) to affirm their love for this exquisite planet, and to show their commitment to protect it every day. Imagine... millions of people put on the XO to show they have started taking actions every day to help protect this magical planet, and to help build a truely "ecological society". Countless consumers and fans put on the logos of their favorite corporate and sports "teams" that they support. To help manifest the momentum needed to protect our planet's future, we need millions of ecological citizens to put on symbols (such as the XO) and messages in support of *Team Earth*. 
So get a blue or green ink pen, marker, or needle and thread, and draw or sew the XO (with a human X and Earth O) on your clothes, personal belongings, skin* and/or an XO bracelet to show others that you are proud to be a human (X) loving the Earth (O) with your eco actions.* Ballpoint pens are safe for the skin as they are non-toxic by US law -- see the Ink section.  Bracelet.XO Earth bracelets, anklets, necklaces or backpack flags can be made from various fabrics. Draw a green and/or blue XO (as the human and the Earth) on the ends if you want to.A great way to make XO Earth Bracelets is to spin a green and a blue piece of yarn together and then tie the ends. To determine the yarn lengths, stretch the yarn from the heart to the hand of the person for which the bracelet is being made for, while saying, "this bracelet is to help you connect your heart knowledge to your hands actions". Another way to make XO Earth bracelets is to cut old blue or green t-shirt or other stretchy material into strips about 1/2 meter long and 50 millimeters wide. Spin the material a few times so it is rope like. Then tie the ends together with a square knot. The bracelet will go around the wrist two to four times. Email us for pics and instructions if you want. A way to use shorter stretchy strips of material is to use a single overhand slip-knot to tie the ends together. Then pull on the unknotted end of the material to tighten it around a wrist. To turn wrapping ribbon into an XO Earth bracelet, just spin one meter of blue or green ribbon about a hundred times so it goes from flat ribbon into a string. Tie the ends together and then wrap around the wrist several times. Because wrapping ribbon material is shiny and stays dry, it makes a better bracelet than string. Another way to make a nice, soft XO Earth Bracelet is to wrap and tie a blue, green or multicolored knitting ribbon around the wrist. Soft, flexible ribbon can be found at knitting stores, and sometimes at fabric and crafts stores. XO Earth bracelets that go around the wrist 4 times can represent the 4 basic ways to help the Earth -- Team, Art, Logic and Love -- from the XO Earth Pledge. 
For a necklace or backpack flag, tie it on with one or two overhand knots.So put on your XO Earth bracelet, anklet, necklace or flag to show that you take actions for the planet every day, and to invite others to take eco actions too. Carry extra fabric and markers to make bracelets for friends where ever you are. Big XO flags and banners can be made with the same materials.  Word.Ways to word up XO.• When talking to friends say, "XO Earth is looking for a million people to put on the XO... the human and the planet... to show that they are taking 1 or more actions for the planet every day. Because we need a bolder Team Earth... we need a more visible ecological society." [ Hand them an un-signed XO Earth membership card if you have one.]Then maybe say, "If you take 1 or more actions for planet every day, it would be great to show others that you do so by wearing the XO on your clothing, skin, belongings or on a bracelet. I can help you put on the XO -- the eco hugs and kisses -- if you want to." Next, "Or, if you would like to pledge to take 1 or more actions for planet every day, I can help you put on the XO." Then, "It's crucial that there are symbols we can put on to show that we are on Team Earth to get others to join Team Earth too... especially when so many corporations and sports teams are getting people to put on logos that call for materialism or eliteism." Finally say, "So would you like to join XO Earth... Team Earth... to help empower this movement to defend our exquistite biosphere worldwide?" XO Earth love letters to the planet is another way to word up XO. Write and post the love letters that say how you love the Earth on bulletin boards, blogs, refrigerators, in emails and beyond. Just another great way help can help inspire peace and love worldwide. Some businesses are now giving a XO Earth Credit/ di$count to XO Earth members who give them an XO Earth love letter that they have written.  Edu.XO Earth is a good way for adults, students, teachers and kids to work together for the planet, to promote school spirit, to support peace, and raise money for environmental clubs.Art, photography and media students are invited to design and post new XO Earth designs, stories and video links to XO's Facebook and Flick'r pages. Whether or not you join XO Earth -- pledge to take 1 or more eco actions every day, and take a visible and verbal stand as a human loving the Earth every day. To make the cards, cut the printed page in quarters. Then fold each quarter in half to create four 2-sided cards. However, you will have to run the paper through your printer twice -- or use a printer that prints on both sides. The *Big XO Earth / 1 Percent For The Earth Pledge* is an optional pledge that members can use to track their XO eco actions. Feel free to print it, sign it, post it at home, work and beyond.  Ink.Permanent markers are usually the best for marking clothing and personal things. When washing clothes with a new XO on them, try not to overload the washer so the clothes can move around freely. This keeps the ink from transferring to another part of the clothing by pressing up against it for too long.
Regular ballpoint ink pens are the best for skin as they are non-toxic* by law -- according to several sources. Ballpoint pen ink stays on the skin longer than permanent markers too. The bigger the ball in the ballpoint pen, the easier the ink will flow.Lotion on the skin often makes it more difficult to write on the skin. Regular oil based ballpoint pens usually work ok on clothing. Water-based rollerballs and gel pens often do not work so well because they may fade and wash out of clothing. Green ballpoint pens and markers can be found at office and art supply stores -- a green X and a blue planet looks great. To make an XO patch to sew on your clothing, first draw the XO on a piece of non-stretchy fabric or canvas. The patch can be sewn, safety-pinned, or buttoned-on. Credit / $.An XO Earth Credit or discount is given by *participating businesses* to XO Earth members who bring in a *Love letter to the Earth* that they have written describing an eco action(s) they have taken in the last week.XO Earth Credits may include a discount, handshake, kiss, words and/or other arts. To receive an XO Earth Credit at *participating businesses* ::1/ Wear the XO (as the human and the Earth) to show others that you are taking one or more actions for the planet every day. 2/ Give the business a *Love letter to the Earth* that you have written, signed and dated that describes one or more eco actions that you have taken for the planet in the last week. 3/ Have your XO Earth membership card with you. Most of the *Participating Businesses* have the XO Earth Credit sign posted in their store window. Biz.Businesses are asked to offer an XO Credit/ discount to reward eco customers and encourage eco actions. The XO Earth Credit is an eco conscious marketing strategy that's good for the planet and business.Businesses are also invited to take the XO Earth Biz Pledge that shows they are willing to give back 1% to the planet. The *XO Earth Biz Pledge* can be used to plan and track a business's eco actions. Feel free to print it, sign it, post it in your business's windows, in advertising and around your store. XOe.When writing blogs, emails, text messages and other wordzy things, tag with a XOe or XOXOe to show that you take an eco action every day.Plus, it's also nice to make tag flavors that show that you like to take specific eco actions. For example, the fXO tag shows that you estimate the ecofx of products to see if the personal benefit outweighs the environmental impact. See ecofx.org for more.
