Green Visions Spotlight: Meet Yadiel Martinez
Overcoming Obstacles and Building Foundations
When Yadiel first joined the Green Visions program, he was focused on building a better future for himself and his family. He quickly jumped into action, utilizing every resource available to set up a strong foundation for the next chapter in his life. In spring 2025, Yadiel achieved several major milestones in rapid succession.
First, he completed his YouScience assessment to identify his unique career aptitudes and strengths. Some of the findings came as a surprise and opened his eyes to new career paths and possibilities.
Next, he earned his Financial Literacy certification, gaining crucial budgeting and money management skills. Shortly after, he received his OSHA 10 certificate.
Another major achievement was earning his driver’s license. We worked tirelessly, going out several days a week to practice driving in preparation. The first time he took the test, he did not pass. Instead of giving up, he saw the setback as an opportunity to work on his parallel parking. The next time, he passed with flying colors.
Yadiel also began the joint custody process for his daughter, whom he had not seen in almost a year. It was an important step toward becoming the dedicated dad he wanted to be.
With his paperwork, transportation, and certifications secured, Yadiel immediately transitioned into the workforce and secured employment at Seabreeze Amusement Park.
Yadiel’s momentum did not stop after graduating from the summer program. In a recent update, Yadiel shared phenomenal news about how much his life has transformed. He was promoted to Assistant Manager at his job and has taken on a second night job to maximize his growth.
Thanks to the legal steps he took during the program, he now gets to see his daughter every single week. He has also recently purchased a new car for himself.
Yadiel is a shining example of what a young person can achieve when they combine the resources of Green Visions with unstoppable personal drive. We are incredibly proud of the father, leader, and professional he has become.
